Howdy WordCampers!

Tomorrow is the first day of WordCamp Long Beach and we can’t wait! Here is all of the important info you need to know for WordCamp Long Beach.

Must-haves

• Tickets: Purchase tickets before the event. We still have a limited number left! You must be registered to attend!

• Schedule: We recommend you bookmark our schedule page for easy reference. We’ll also have some printed schedules onsite.

Getting here

• Venue Address: The Pointe Conference Center is on the ground floor of the Walter Pyramid. Enter underneath the Yellow Stairs of the Pyramid. Check our location page for additional details. The official address is:

• Parking instructions: Parking is NOT included in your WCLB ticket. Parking on campus is $9 for the day. You’ll need to know your license plate number for the pay terminals. The lots closest to the Pyramid are Lot 13, Lot 14, and the Pyramid Parking Structure. Arrive early for the best parking!

At Camp

• Start times: On Saturday, doors open for registration at 8:15am. Welcome Remarks begin at 9am. On Sunday, doors open at 9am and Welcome Remarks start at 9:45am.

• Registration/ badges: Your first stop. Check in with us and get your badges. Badges are important: We ask that you wear your badges at all times while at WCLB, including during the day sessions and at the After Party. You’ll also need them for entrance into the venue, After Party, and to collect your t-shirts and lunch.

• Swag: Drop by the Swag table to pick up some free goodies and, if you registered by September 11th, your WordCamp Long Beach shirt.

• Sponsors: Check out our amazing sponsors in the main hall. They helped make WordCamp Long Beach happen! 

• Sessions: There is something for everybody! Take a look at our diverse speakers and topics and plan to learn a lot. 

• Wifi: 
  When you first attempt to access the Internet on your device, a “Beachnet guest access” pop-up window should come up.
  • Click “Self Register” under Campus Guests
  • Enter your name and email address
  • Accept terms of use for 1-day access

After Party

• Time/ Location: Saturday, October 6th from 7pm-9:30pm

• Badges: Everyone needs a badge to get into the After Party. ONLY registered attendees may attend the WCLB After Party. Sorry, no plus-ones!

We’re looking for volunteers! Would you like to give back to the WordPress community? Be part of the crew embarking on the first WordCamp Long Beach? Volunteering is a great way to get involved! We’re looking for folks with various abilities and availability, so anyone is welcome to apply.

Volunteer Roles and Duties

Here are some roles we’re looking for:

• Registration and Swag: Greeting and checking in attendees. Handing out schedules and cool goodies :). 
• Room Monitor and Emcee: Supporting speakers in session rooms with setup and time tracking. Introducing speakers and audience announcements. 
• Happiness Bar: Helping attendees with WordPress questions and troubleshooting.
• Setup and Clean Up: All volunteers are expected to help with tasks related to setting up and wrapping up the event in some capacity.

Please note that while we would cover the ticket cost for volunteers, it is not just “free admission”- we’ll need your help to make sure the event runs smoothly for everyone! If there are particular talks you would like to attend, we may be able to accommodate :).
